Robert sadly passed away in his sleep in mid April 2008, at the age of 30. He grew up up on the Middle Park Estate, before moving to Bexleyheath in his adult years. He leaves behind his parents, Sue and Trevor and sister Elizabeth and brother David.
Robert attended Middle Park Infants and Primary Schools' before attending Eltham Green Secondary School - and was liked by everyone in the form / year. After leaving school Robert mainly worked in retail which he was suited to because he liked being around people.
Robert and I were best buddies during secondary school and spent most afternoons at one or anothers houses, we had grown apart in recent years, but he was never that far from my thoughts, I for one think the world is a sadder place without "powerpack" in it. Missing ya loads already.
Rest in Peace.
Info for anyone wishing to attend Rob's funeral - it is at 4pm at Eltham Crematorium on Thrsday st May.
batman
well where do i start i have so many stories to tell everyone i've spoken to has said what a gentleman he was , a gentle giant, a great mate, would do anything for you this was rob/batman to a tee
rob had an eye for fashion, the check suit at our 18th birthday, the hair styles, the number of times he said go on you do it, it looks good.
robert always looked on the positive side of things and always saw the best in everything on his 30th birthday we all went out for a nice meal, as you can imagine the resturant was very busy robert was dibetic and had to check his blood sugar, well in no time rob had us all checking our blood saying your ok, your in trouble, and your is worse then mine
but the best memory of rob was his unconditioned kindness, he had an amazing ability to become friends with who ever he managed to cross paths with. this was shown when we were on a golfing holiday we went to a very high class resturant where lots of couples were having a quiet meal with minites of arriving rob had the whole resturant laughing and i'm sure everyone reading this will remember his great laugh.
don't think of him as gone away
his journeys just begun
life hold so many facets
this earth is only one
just think of him as resting
from the sorrow and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years
think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
that nothing but our sadness
can really pass away
and think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much
My son Robert Power (Batman)
Rob is a son to be proud of, larger than life who always put others before him. Anyone who needed help could guarantee Rob was there for them. He is so special to so many, many people. I want to thank you all for giving him such a fantastic send off with standing room only.To lose a child is a mothers worse nightmare, the pain unbearable but, I know that because he touched so many peoples hearts he will live on forever. Thank you Sue xxx
Rest forever peacefully Rob. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family as they journey through this sad and difficult time.
So Sorry
So sorry to hear about Rob, he was a nice lad and the world will be a sadder place without him.
To Rob's family, no words I could write will ease the pain but it does help to know he is thought about by so many.
Batman
I am really sorry and shocked to hear about Robs passing. Although i didn't know him that well i knew him as a lovely guy and a genuinely nice person. Would just like to say to Robs family my thoughts are with you all.
I can say this, I have met a truly awsome guy & I will never forget him.
To say good bye to a really nice lad is harder still as he never harmed me or anyone in the time I knew him and I'm sure he stayed the same growing up!
I'm sure he will be very much missed by all as he is loved very much,
To Robs family: I'm So very sorry for you're loss,
Please know he is being remembered in devon as well.
Always in out thoughts
You will leave a big whole in all our hearts, so sad to leave us so young! You were a fantastic guy who shared so much warmth with everyone you knew, a personality so big that you always had a laugh together, so generous to everyone that you would always help anyone and character that was larger than life. Robert may u rest in peace and shall always be in my thoughts. My deepest thoughts to your family.
The \'Power Ranger\'!
I was totally shocked to hear the sad news of Robert's passing.
I last saw Robert in September at Peter's 30th Birthday party and although Robert was dealing with many health issues, he was still jolly and still had that mental laugh that could not fail to make others laugh!
Robert was a gentle giant. I will never forget his laugh and his kind nature.
Rest in peace Rob.

Batman!
I've known Robert since I was a little kid - as my brother's mate he's always been around with a laugh so loud you could hear it long before you saw him!!!
Despite the fact I didn't see him so much in the last few years, when I did he was always the same - excited to hear about what you'd been up to and how you had been. A gentle giant that will remain in the memories of all who knew him. xx
